Urban Decay has announced they are discontinuing their iconic Naked Palette. This is not a drill. The cosmetics brand broke the sad news to its followers releasing a tongue-in-cheek video depicting a solemn funeral for the product. To pay tribute to the loss of this fan favourite, the brand invited makeup influencers Kandee Johnson, Christen Dominique, Chrisspy, Katy DeGroot, Shayla Mitchell and brand ambassador Nicole Richie to pay their respects. They also released a statement: “Today, the beauty world mourns Urban Decay’s beloved Naked Palette, the product that revolutionized neural eyeshadows.”
Luxury designer CHANEL has made some serious waves this week following the announcement of their first ever range for men. Boy de Chanel includes foundation, eyebrow pencils and lip balms and will be launching in November. It’s safe to say the news has divided social media, with many users criticizing the brand for a damaging display of gender segregation. One user says: “I’m confused as to why this was necessary.” While another states: “makeup is unisex but ok.” However, others have praised the brand, saying they hope it paves the way for others to follow in their footsteps and makes inroads to normalising men wearing makeup.
ASOS have launched their latest 90s nostalgic collaboration, this time with long-running cartoon The Simpsons. Bringing a little Springfield charm to your wardrobe, the streetwear range features more than 30 new pieces, including menswear, womenswear, unisex and plus-size and curve options. ASOS Design x The Simpsons features T-shirts, sweaters, tote bags, denim, bucket hats, swimwear and fanny packs sporting the infamous animated characters and logos. Fans have taken to Twitter and Instagram to share their excitement about the inclusive range, with many expressing FOMO at the news that the line quickly ran out of stock on the website. Now newly restocked, you’d better hurry to get a piece of the yellow pie.
