Behind the #HMSuperBday

Last Saturday evening we were boarding a plane from Cluj Napoca to Bucharest. I was climbing the plane’s narrow steps with my best friend, Carmen, Ioana Grama and Zmenta. You know all the guys, don’t you? The occasion? On the 25th of May, H&M is celebrating five years since its first shop in Romania, so they thought they would bring together 25 of the most powerful fashion and lifestyle influencers for a special project, dedicated to this even more special day.

For this occasion, the styling was put together in collaboration with @RDStylingProject, using items that are already available in H&M stores throughout the country (my outfits can be your inspiration for early summer). Dan Beleiu was in charge of the way we looked on the camera and Alexandru Abagiu and Sorin Stratulat, together with the Beauty District team, handled the make-up and hairstyling. Suffice it to say that with such a team, we’re counting down the minutes until the final result is live. You’ll see us soon. We’re going in the backstage for now.

BEHIND THE HASHTAG

The shooting was scheduled for 10am at The Brewery. As soon as we got there, we started getting ready: outfit fittings with @RDStylingProject and the H&M team, make-up and hair. All I can reveal is that we were part of the trendy team and our outfits had a navy theme. Striped over stripes, navy blue, oversized trench coats – the blouses, at least, would’ve got Picasso’s approval (he used to wear striped shirts, if you remember the details I’ve told you about in the NISA part 2 post). As for the make-up (by Ioana Stratulat), we went for a fresh, radiant look, with a cat eye to make the eyes appear bigger. I loved it. Sorin Stratulat handled my hair and he used a big curling iron to get this natural look that seems effortless, yet looks amazing. You know what I mean? Take a look:

Everything was documented on tape, so soon I’ll share with you a real behind the scenes, as a video can convey feelings and emotions so much better than photos. We felt amazing at the shooting, almost didn’t want to leave that place, however we realised how tired we were as soon as we reached the hotel room. Initially, we decided to go out and shoot around Bucharest (I’ve wanted to come here for a week or two for a long while now, to see the museums, walk around the parks, eat new things, however I’m always on the run). It started to rain… We waited for it to stop, lazed around a little, then went for a walk, since I really wanted to shoot in this look.

The H&M anniversary brings along a huge surprise, I feel honoured to take part in this project and I can’t wait to tell you more about their campaign. I will keep you posted here, on the blog, so stay tuned!
